Studies: Route 621 (Ware House Road) Shared Use Path Feasibility Study

Cost and schedule ►

Public outreach ►

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is currently studying the feasibility of building a shared use path along Route 621 (Ware House Road) in Gloucester County at the request of Gloucester County staff.

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential to build a paved shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists along Ware House Road from Route 17 Business (Main Street) to Ware House Landing Boat Ramp at the Ware River. The planning study would determine the feasibility, preferred alignment of the approximately two-mile long proposed path, and costs associated to build a bicycle and pedestrian facility separated from the roadway, which would connect historic Main Street (Gloucester Village) to neighborhoods and boat launch on Ware House Road.

This study will document existing conditions, assess the benefits and drawbacks of design alternatives, and develop cost estimates.
