NORTHBOUND I-81 CLOSED IN FREDERICK COUNTY
STAUNTON – (5:45 a.m.) A tractor trailer fire has blocked both northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Frederick County near Winchester. The fire involves a truck hauling hay, and was reported about 4 a.m. Monday (October 28) near mile marker 315.
Northbound I-81 traffic is using the Route 37 bypass as a detour. Drivers take exit 310 (Kernstown) to Route 37 north and then Route 11 north, rejoining the interstate at exit 317 just north of Winchester.
Motorists can expect significant delays during the Monday morning commute.
