TRAFFIC ALERT: BRIDGE WORK TO CLOSE ROUTE 692 (HORSEPASTURE PRICE ROAD) IN VIRGINIA IN AUGUST
SALEM, Va. – Beginning Aug. 1, a section of Route 692 (Horsepasture Price Road) in the Horsespasture area of Henry County, Virginia, will be closed for approximately nine days due to bridge work. Weather permitting, the road is expected to reopen on Aug. 9.
The Virginia Department of Transportation will be replacing the concrete riding surface and span on the bridge over Jennings Creek. The bridge is located on Route 692 about 0.2 mile from Route 694 (Wagon Trail Road) and 0.3 mile from Route 793 (Bouldin Road).
Motorists should expect flaggers controlling traffic on the bridge for a few days before and after the closure as crews complete the bridge work.
During the closure, drivers will need to seek alternate routes. A truck detour is available using northbound Route 220 at the North Carolina state line onto westbound Route 58.
Electronic message boards will be in place to alert drivers to the upcoming bridge closure.
