ROUTE 40 TO CLOSE FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT OVER THARP CREEK IN FRANKLIN COUNTY

SALEM - Beginning Monday, January 18, work will begin on Route 40 to replace the bridge that crosses over Tharp Creek.

The bridge is located .70 miles west of the intersection with Route 788 (Dry Hills Road).

On Tuesday, February 2, the bridge will be closed to east and westbound traffic and a detour will be in place until the project is complete.

The detour will use Route 788/789 (Dry Hill Road) to allow traffic to navigate around the closure.  .

The project is expected to be completed in September 2021.
