TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 608 (ALTICE ROAD) BRIDGE IN BEDFORD COUNTY TO CLOSE FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS
SALEM – The Route 608 (Altice Road) bridge over the railroad tracks in Bedford County will be closed for emergency repairs starting today. The bridge is located about two miles northwest of Moneta.
During a routine inspection, some deterioration was discovered in the bridge’s wooden beams.
Virginia Department of Transportation will make repairs to the bridge. An exact time reopening the bridge has not been determined. This is expected to be a long-term closure.
Drivers will need to seek alternate routes.
