TRAFFIC ALERT: RAMP TO I-81 NORTHBOUND FROM ROUTE 232 IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY REOPENS TO TRAFFIC
SALEM - As of this afternoon, the on-ramp onto I-81 northbound from Route 232 at exit 105 is now open to traffic. Drivers can now access northbound I-81 from Route 232.
The ramp was previously an extended closure as part of the ongoing construction of the New River Bridge on I-81 in Montgomery County. The detour that was previously in place has been removed.
As a reminder, the 105 exit ramp from I-81 north onto Route 232 will be closed for extended periods as part of the ongoing project. The ramp will be closed from Monday, May 4 at 7 a.m. through Thursday, May 7 at 5 p.m. and Monday, May 11 at 7 a.m. through Thursday, May 14 at 5 p.m. Drivers will need to find alternate locations to exit the interstate and access Route 232.
In addition, periodic slow rolls are possible within the work zone, an 11-foot width restriction remains in place and the speed limit is reduced to 60 mph.
Message boards will continue to alert drivers and drivers should use caution in the work zone.
