TRAFFIC ALERT: SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 220 LANE CLOSED IN FRANKLIN COUNTY DUE TO DRAINAGE ISSUE
SALEM – In Franklin County, the left southbound lane of Route 220 at Route 956 (Redbud Hill Road) north of Rocky Mount is closed.
A damaged drainage pipe beneath the median has settled due to recent rainfall causing a depression in the pavement in the southbound left lane of Route 220.
The left lane will remain closed overnight and into Monday, Oct. 28, as the Virginia Department of Transportation continues to assess the damage and schedules additional repairs.
