VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON ROUTE 36 STARS STUDY IN PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, CITY OF HOPEWELL
Public invited to learn more about study on February 27

SOUTH CHESTERFIELDThe Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a citizen information meeting on the Route 36 (Oaklawn Boulevard) STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) Study in Prince George County and the City of Hopewell. This study is evaluating the existing and projected future conditions of Route 36 between Jefferson Park Road and Route 144 in the City of Hopewell. The study will focus on assessing measures and recommending improvements to address congestion, operational and safety issues.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, February 27 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Welcome Center, located at 4100 Oaklawn Blvd. Hopewell, VA 23860. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project. 

Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until March 8 by mailing them to Desmond Smallwood, project manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002. Comments can also be emailed to desmond.smallwood@vdot.virginia.gov. Please reference “Route 36 STARS Study” in the subject line.
