CEDAR LEVEL ROAD WIDENING PROJECT COMPLETE IN HOPEWELL
The completed project resulted in wider roads and increased safety

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD — On Tuesday, September 29, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) completed a road widening project on Cedar Level Road between Cobblestone Parkway and Miles Avenue in the City of Hopewell.

The project widened the road from two to three lanes with the addition of turn lanes, bike lanes and sidewalk. The project also realigned the road to reduce an “S” curve resulting in increased safety for all road users. Stormwater management basins were also added to the area, and a deteriorated pipe under Cedar Level Road was replaced with a concrete box culvert.

Construction began in November 2018 and the total cost of the project was $11 million.
