HENRICO — On Friday, September 13, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews completed work to install pedestrian accommodations on W. Broad Street (Route 250) at Libbie Place/Willow Place Shopping Center (opposite side of Broad Street) in Henrico County. Three pedestrian crosswalks were added, along with new curb ramps and visible/audible pedestrian signals to provide guidance to pedestrians with disabilities.

“The crossing work at W. Broad Street and Libbie Place follows a series of recently installed pedestrian accommodations along W. Broad,” said Robb Alexander, Central Region Operations Manager. “With more travelers than ever using alternative transportation, providing a safe crossing location for pedestrians in high-volume locations is a major priority. Additionally, the success of the GRTC Transit System’s bus rapid transit has generated additional pedestrian traffic in the area, and VDOT recognizes the need for signalized crossings close to the Willow Lawn bus access hub.”
