Temporary Turn Lane Closures Planned at the University Boulevard and Wellington Road Intersection in Prince William County
Closures planned for approximately two weeks for intersection spot improvements
FAIRFAX – A multi-week closure of the left turn lane from Wellington Road West to University Boulevard South, and the right turn lane from University Boulevard North to Wellington Road East in Gainesville will begin at 8 a.m. on or about Monday, May 8, and remain continuously through 5 p.m. Friday, May 19, for crews to perform roadway widening and other intersection improvements as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Travel lanes on Wellington Road West approaching University Boulevard will be shifted to maintain one left turn lane, one thru lane, and one thru/right turn lane during this period. Travel lanes on University Boulevard North approaching Wellington Road will be shifted to maintain one left turn lane and one thru/right turn lane.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
