Route 15 Weeknight Flagging near Point of Rocks Bridge Begins April 3
One lane of alternating traffic in each direction for tree work
LEESBURG – Beginning Monday, April 3, weather permitting, Route 15 (James Monroe Highway) will have one lane of alternating traffic in each direction via flagging on weeknights just south of the Point of Rocks bridge over the Potomac River for tree work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The southbound lane of Route 15 will be closed between Route 672 (Lovettsville Road) and Myersville Lane during the tree work, with flaggers routing each direction of traffic in the northbound lane. The work is scheduled to occur Monday night, April 3 through Thursday night, April 6; Monday night, April 10 through Thursday night, April 13 and Monday night, April 17 through Thursday night, April 20 beginning at 8 each night. The road will be fully reopened to traffic by 4 a.m. each morning.
Drivers are reminded to use caution when traveling in active work zones. Be alert to new traffic patterns and limit distractions.
