Ramp From I-495 South Towards Tysons to George Washington Memorial Parkway East Scheduled to Close Tuesday Night, Sept. 6
Drivers should follow signed detour
MCLEAN, VA – On or about Tuesday night, September 6, the ramp from southbound I-495 toward Tysons to eastbound George Washington Memorial Parkway is scheduled to be closed from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. the next morning. Crews will be conducting maintenance work on a stormwater management drain. Motorists should follow the signed detour listed below, and should use caution when traveling through this area. All work is subject to change based on weather conditions and contractor scheduling.
Detour:
- Continue south on I-495 and take Exit 44 for Georgetown Pike;
- At the first Georgetown Pike traffic light, turn left and continue on the bridge over the Beltway;
- Turn left at the second traffic light to take the ramp for northbound I-495; and
- Continue north on I-495 to Exit 43 for George Washington Memorial Parkway
This work is part of the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project to extend the existing 495 Express Lanes from the Dulles Corridor interchange to the GWMP near the American Legion Bridge.
