Ramp from George Washington Memorial Parkway West to I-495 South to be Reduced to One Lane Starting Sun., Aug, 14
Ramp space needed for construction vehicle haul route
MCLEAN, VA – The ramp from westbound George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) to southbound I-495 (Capital Beltway) will be reduced from two lanes to one lane to make room for a construction vehicle haul route that will be separated from traffic by a physical barrier. Travelers should expect possible delays when approaching and traveling on the narrowed ramp. This traffic change will be in effect throughout construction on the I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project. A message board will provide advance notice to approaching motorists.
This work is part of the 495 NEXT project to extend the existing 495 Express Lanes from the Dulles Corridor interchange to the George Washington Memorial Parkway near the American Legion Bridge.
Visit 495NEXT.org for the latest construction and lane closure information.
