Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, June 26-30 For Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday night, June 27, through Thursday night, June 30
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for boring work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

 

Monday night, June 27, through Thursday night, June 30
Ramp from Nutley Street South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work and paving. Traffic will be detoured farther south, stay to the left and make a U-turn at the traffic signal at Route 29 (Lee Highway) onto Nutley Street North, then follow signs to I-66 East.

 

Tuesday night, June 28
Ramp from Nutley Street North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for gantry erection. Traffic will be directed to continue north, stay to the left and make a U-turn from the left-most left turn lane at the traffic signal at Virginia Center Boulevard onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West.

 

Tuesday night, June 28, through Thursday night, June 30
Ramps from I-66 East to Nutley Street North and South
The ramps will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther east to I-495 North, travel north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, exit to I-66 West, then follow signs to Nutley Street North or South.

 

Wednesday, June 29, and Thursday, June 30
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North  
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.

 

Sunday, June 26, and Monday, June 27
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North    
The ramp will be closed both nights from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North. Note: This closure will not be implemented on nights it conflicts with other closures.

 

Sunday, June 26, and Monday, June 27
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed both nights from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. Note: This closure will not be implemented if it conflicts with other detours.
