Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, July 5-9, For the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Tuesday night, July 5, through Thursday night, July 7
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 50 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. nightly for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to the Route 50 West exit, stay to the right to I-66 West, then stay to the right to Route 50 East.
Tuesday night, July 5, through Thursday night, July 7, and Saturday night, July 9
Ramp from Route 50 East to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Tuesday through Thursday nights from midnight to 4 a.m., and Saturday night from midnight to 5 a.m. for barrier work and sign installation. Traffic will be directed farther east, stay to the left and use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn at Waples Mill Road onto Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.
Wednesday night, July 6, and Thursday night, July 7
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for boring work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 North, then follow signs to Route 28 South.
Wednesday, July 6, through Friday, July 8
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North
The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
