VDOT News - Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Monday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 15
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East. 

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Monday, June 13, through Thursday, June 16
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North  
The ramp will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.

Tuesday night, June 14, through Thursday night, June 16
Ramp from I-495 South to I-66 West   
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, stay to the right following signs to I-495 North and I-66, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Wednesday night, June 15, through Friday night, June 17
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed Wednesday and Thursday nights from midnight to 4 a.m., and Friday night from midnight to 5 a.m. for wall work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. 

Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed Wednesday and Thursday nights from midnight to 4 a.m., and Friday night from midnight to 5 a.m. for wall work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.

Wednesday night, June 15
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Wednesday night, June 15, and Thursday night June 16
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther south to Route 29 North, stay to the right to Route 28 North, then follow signs to I-66 East.
