FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Wednesday night, December 28, and Thursday night, December 29                                                                            Wednesday night, January 4, through Friday night, January 6
Ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North and South
I-66 East Collector-Distributor Lane at Route 286
The ramps from I-66 East to Route 286 North and South and the eastbound collector-distributor lane at Route 286 will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for light pole installation and overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 50 West, stay to the right to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 286 North or South.

Wednesday night, December 28, and Thursday night, December 29
Tuesday night, January 3, through Friday night, January 6
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for a traffic shift, light pole installation, and overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed farther south to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, turn left at the second traffic signal, and follow signs to Route 286 North, then exit to I-66 East. Note: This closure will not be implemented when the closure conflicts with other detours.

Friday night, January 6
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed from midnight and 4 a.m. for sign foundation drilling. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 North or South. 

Wednesday night, January 4
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North and South 
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for sign foundation drilling. Drivers will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 29 North Gainesville, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right to I-66 East and follow signs to Route 234 Business.

Thursday night, January 5, and Friday night, January 6
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed both nights from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.

Tuesday night, January 3, through Thursday night, January 5
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 286 South
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic shift and barrier removal. Traffic will be detoured prior to the closure to Route 286 North, stay to the right to exit to Fair Lakes Parkway/Monument Drive, turn left at the traffic signal onto Fair Lakes Parkway, then stay left and turn left at the traffic signal onto the ramp to Route 286 South.

Thursday night, January 5
Ramp from Route 286 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, exit to Route 50 West, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West. 

Tuesday night, January 3
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 608 South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Friday night, January 6
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Route 286 South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 West.

Wednesday night, January 4, through Friday night, January 6
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to exit to I-66 West (prior to the closure), exit to Nutley Street, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

Tuesday night, January 3, through Thursday night, January 5
Ramp from I-66 East to I-495 North  
The ramp will be closed each night from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to I-495 South, take the exit to Route 50 (Arlington Boulevard) East, stay to the right to Fairview Park, take the left fork to Fairview Park North, bear left at the traffic signal, then stay to the right following signs to I-495 North.
