Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges, April 18-23, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East. 

Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.

 

Monday night, April 18, through Wednesday night, April 20
Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed nightly from midnight to 4 a.m. for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South (prior to the closed ramp), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, continue for about one mile and follow signs to I-66 East. (Note: This closure will not take place when the detour conflicts with other closures.)

 

Tuesday, April 19, and Wednesday, April 20
Ramp from I-66 West to I-495 South
The ramp will be closed both nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street South, stay right to I-66 East, then follow signs to I-495 South.

 

Tuesday night, April 19, through Thursday night, April 21
Ramp from Route 29 North (Centreville) to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for underdrain repair. Traffic will be directed to continue farther north to the intersection of Machen Road/Trinity Parkway. At the traffic signal drivers will use the left-most left turn lane to make a U-turn onto Route 29 South, then stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.
