Overnight Lane Closures on I-66 East in Centreville Planned Next Week, June 13-17, for Overhead Bridge Beam Installation
FAIRFAX – I-66 East approaching Stringfellow Road in Centreville will be reduced to a single travel lane during the overnight hours next week, Monday, June 13, through Friday, June 17, for continued bridge beam installation and concrete work for a ramp from the future I-66 Express Lanes to the eastbound I-66 general-purpose lanes and the exit to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway). Traffic will be directed into one lane and diverted behind barrier onto new roadway these nights. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Drivers traveling on I-66 East during this time should expect delays and consider using alternate routes.
Details include:
Monday, June 13, through Friday, June 17
I-66 East from east of Route 28 to Stringfellow Road
- I-66 East will be reduced to a single travel lane Monday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and Friday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- All eastbound traffic will be directed into a single lane and diverted behind barrier onto new roadway.
- All lanes on I-66 East will reopen by 5 a.m. weekdays, and by 6 a.m. Saturday.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
