Overnight Closure of Random Hills Road Near Monument Drive in Fairfax Planned Tomorrow Night, Wednesday, September 14, for Overhead Bridge Beam Installation
FAIRFAX – Random Hills Road is scheduled to be closed at Monument Drive during the overnight hours Wednesday, September 14, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured around the closure via Government Center Parkway and Post Forest Drive. The closure is needed for crews to install overhead bridge beams as part of the widening of the Monument Drive Bridge over I-66 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
Monument Drive at I-66 is being modified to add full-time access to the new 66 Express Lanes to and from the east and west. A new parking garage and transit center is also being built with project funding at the intersection of Monument Drive and Government Center Parkway, adjacent to the 66 Express Lanes ramps at Monument Drive.
