I-66 Ramps at Stringfellow Road Planned to Reopen On/About Sunday, September 18
Ramps reconstructed for future 66 Express Lanes access as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – The ramps from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road and from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East are scheduled to reopen to traffic during the early morning hours Sunday, September 18. The ramps have been closed since mid-July while crews reconstructed the ramps provide access to the future 66 Express Lanes.
All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
As part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project, I-66 and Stringfellow Road have been modified to accommodate the new 66 Express Lanes and provide room in the center median for any future mass transit on I-66. When the new 66 Express Lanes open at the end of 2022, these new ramps will become Express Lanes-only ramps from Stringfellow Road to the 66 Express Lanes East and from the 66 Express Lanes West to Stringfellow Road.
