Full Weekend-Long Closures Planned for the I-66 Ramps at Stringfellow Road This Weekend, May 6 - 9, for Continued Construction Activity

UPDATE (5/5): Due to forecasted inclement weather this weekend (May 6-9) this work is being rescheduled to next weekend, May 13-16.

FAIRFAX – The ramps from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road and to I-66 East from Stringfellow Road will be closed this weekend beginning at 10:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, continuously through 4:30 a.m. Monday, May 9. The closures are needed for crews to safely demolish remaining old concrete barrier along the ramps. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Drivers should expect delays if traveling in the area and consider using alternate routes.

All work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.

I-66 over Stringfellow Road is being widened to accommodate the new I-66 Express Lanes and provide room for any future mass transit along I-66.

Weekly updates will be available at Transform66.org and on Twitter @VaDOTNOVA. To receive project updates automatically by email, sign up here.
