Extended Closure of the I-66 Ramps at Stringfellow Road Beginning on or about Monday, July 11, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

Update (08/25/22): The ramps at Stringfellow Road will remain closed through Saturday, September 17.

FAIRFAX – The ramps from I-66 West to Stringfellow Road and from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East are scheduled to close for about eight weeks beginning on or about Monday, July 11, for continued construction of the new configuration of the ramps. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Drivers should expect delays if traveling in the area and use alternate routes. 

Details include:

Monday, July 11
Ramps from Stringfellow Road to I-66 East/from I-66 West 

  • The ramps will close around 10 p.m.
  • The closure is anticipated to remain in place through approximately Monday, September 5.

I-66 over Stringfellow Road is being widened to accommodate the new I-66 Express Lanes and provide room for any future mass transit along I-66. The I-66 ramps at Stringfellow Road are being modified to add full-time Express Lanes access to and from the east.
