Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges Next Week, June 27 – July 2, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Saturday night, June 26, through Thursday night, July 1
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway)
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. (5 a.m. on Sunday) each night for paving and a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured farther west, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North, turn to the left at the traffic signal on to Route 29 South, stay to the right to I-66 East, and then follow signs to Route 234 Bypass.
Sunday, June 27, through Wednesday, June 30
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Bypass
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will continue farther east, exit to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road), turn left, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then exit to Route 234 Bypass.
Sunday, June 27, through Wednesday, June 30
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 West, exit to Route 29 North, turn left at the traffic signal on to Route 29 South, then stay to the right to I-66 East.
Sunday, June 27, through Wednesday, June 30
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business North and South
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 29 North, turn left at the traffic signal on to Route 29 South, stay to the right to I-66 East and then follow signs to Route 234 Business.
Sunday, June 27, through Thursday, July 1
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 234 Business North and South
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic shift. Traffic will be directed to exit to Route 234 Bypass South prior to the closure, then turn left on to Balls Ford Road to reach Route 234 Business North or South.
Sunday, June 27, through Thursday, July 1
Ramp from Route 234 Business North and South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic switch. Traffic on northbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn left at Balls Ford Road, travel about two miles, turn right onto Route 234 Bypass North, then follow signs to I-66 West. Traffic on southbound Route 234 Business will be directed to turn right on to Route 29 South, and then follow signs to I-66 West.
Sunday, June 27, through Thursday, July 1
Ramp from Route 234 Business South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for a traffic switch. Traffic will be directed to make a U-turn at Balls Ford Road to Route 234 Business North and then follow signs to I-66 East.
Sunday night, June 27, through Thursday night, July 1
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be detoured farther west to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right for Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Monday night, June 28, through Thursday night, July 1
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 123 North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for paving. Traffic will be directed to continue east, exit to Nutley Street, stay to the left on the ramp and turn left turn at the traffic signal onto Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then exit to Route 123 North and South. (NOTE: This closure will not happen on same night(s) as closure of I-66 West to Route 123 North and South.)
Tuesday night, June 29, through Thursday night, July 1
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 123 North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for a lane shift on the ramp. Traffic will be directed to continue west to the exit for Route 50 East, follow signs to I-66 East, and then exit to Route 123 North and South. (NOTE: This closure will not happen on same night(s) as closure of I-66 East to Route 123 North and South.)
Sunday night, June 27, through Thursday night, July 1
Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, exit to Route 50 East, stay to the right, and follow signs to I-66 East.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
