VDOT News - Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges throughout the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project corridor. 

Details include:

Sunday, February 21, through Thursday, February 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 (Lee Highway) North and South Centreville
The ramp will be closed between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly for utility work. Traffic will be directed prior to the closure to Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29 South.

Monday, February 22, through Thursday, February 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 28 North
The ramp will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North. 

Ramp from I-66 West to Braddock Road/Walney Road
The ramp will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, to Route 29 North, stay to the right and follow signs to Route 28 North, then follow signs to the Braddock Road/Walney Road left exit.

Monday, February 22, through Wednesday, February 24, and Friday, February 26
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. to shift barrier. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal on to Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal to I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 123 North or South.

Monday, February 22, through Wednesday, February 24
Ramp from 495 Express Lanes North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for crews to implement lane shifts. 

Thursday, February 25
Ramp from I-66 East to Nutley Street North and South
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for overhead sign removal. Traffic will be directed farther east to I-495 North, exit to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 South, then exit at I-66 West, and follow signs to Nutley Street. Traffic traveling to Nutley Street North and South will use the same new ramp. Northbound Nutley Street traffic will stay to the right, and southbound Nutley Street traffic will stay to the left on the exit ramp, then turn left at a temporary traffic signal.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
