Overnight Ramp Closures at Multiple I-66 Interchanges, December 13-17, for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the following I-66 interchanges as part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Details include:
Monday night, December 13, though Friday night, December 17
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for noise wall installation. Traffic will be directed to continue south, exit to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday night, December 13, though Friday night, December 17
Ramp from Braddock Road East/West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. each night for noise wall installation. Traffic will be detoured to Route 28 South, exit to Route 29 South, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., and Friday night from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for a concrete pour and overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, stay to the right to I-495 South, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Monday through Thursday nights from 9:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., and Friday night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for a concrete pour and overhead bridge work. Traffic will be directed to continue north to Route 7 East, travel about one mile, then follow signs to I-66 East.
Wednesday night, December 15
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 West
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west, exit to Route 608 (West Ox Road) South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs to I-66 West.
Wednesday night, December 15
Ramp from Route 50 West to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to West Ox Road South, stay to the right to Route 50 East, then follow signs for I-66 East.
Wednesday night, December 15
Ramp from I-66 West to Route 50 East
The ramp will be closed from midnight to 4 a.m. for barrier work. Traffic will be directed to continue farther west to the exit to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) South, stay to the right to I-66 East, then follow signs to Route 50 East.
Wednesday, December 15, through Friday, December 17
Ramp from Route 28 North to I-66 East
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 East
The ramps will be closed Wednesday and Thursday night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., and Friday night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a traffic shift. Southbound traffic will be directed farther south to Route 29 (Lee Highway) South, continue for about one mile, and follow signs to I-66 East. Northbound traffic will also be directed to Route 29 South (prior to the closed ramp), stay to the left and turn left at the traffic signal onto Route 29 South, continue for about one mile and follow signs to I-66 East.
