Northern Virginia: Use Caution if Traveling and Be Alert to Refreeze
Continue to limit travel where needed and give crews room to clear and treat roads
FAIRFAX--As a quick-hitting winter storm leaves the region today, residents are reminded to give road crews room as they clear remaining snow and slush in Northern Virginia this afternoon. Overnight tonight and tomorrow morning, limit nonessential trips if possible, and remain keenly alert to potential icy spots if traveling.
What's Happening Now
Some VDOT Northern Virginia crews will remain on duty this afternoon and overnight to push accumulation where needed, as well as treat roads overnight for the refreeze of any melted precipitation to the pavement.
Reminders for Drivers:
If possible, limit nonessential trips overnight and tomorrow morning to avoid encountering icy conditions.
