Eastbound Route 7 Traffic Shift in Vienna Begins Aug. 27
Between Serenity Woods Lane and Beulah Road
VIENNA - Between 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27 and 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28, drivers on eastbound Route 7 will experience single lane closures and lane shifts between Serenity Woods Lane and Beulah Road.
Drivers will access Newcombs Farm Road and Potomac Vegetable Farms via Middleton Ridge Road and a temporary service road until on or about Sept. 10 while crews build a new right-turn lane from eastbound Route 7 to Newcomb Farms Road.
Between 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 27 and noon on Saturday, Aug. 28, the Route 7 median at Middleton Ridge Road will be closed while crews construct the median crossover. Drivers on westbound Route 7 to Middleton Ridge Road will proceed to Carpers Farm Way and U-turn to eastbound Route 7 to access Middleton Ridge Road. The median crossover will reopen by noon on Saturday, Aug. 28.
All residences, businesses and other public facilities will remain accessible. Please see the maps for details.
All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
For information on intersection movements at the completion of construction, please see the interactive map on the project website.
Please note crews are only working within the VDOT right of way and where rights have been acquired from property owners (read more).
As a reminder, the Route 7 speed limit has been reduced to 45 miles per hour in active work zones between Reston Avenue and Jarrett Valley Drive, and Virginia law prohibits the use of handheld cell phones while driving through an active work zone.
Please use caution and be alert to work zone signs, potential flagger or police direction, and watch for traffic shifts. Slow-moving vehicles and equipment may be entering or exiting the road.
