Paving on I-66 West in Manassas Area This Weekend Requires Closure of Multiple Travel Lanes, Ramp from Prince William Parkway

FAIRFAX – The ramp from the Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 West will be closed this weekend for paving on I-66 West in the Manassas area. I-66 West will be reduced to two travel lanes from Groveton Road to University Boulevard. Both closures will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, May 15, and continue through noon Monday, May 18.   

These closures are part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project and will allow for extensive paving operations needed to shift traffic to the right side of the roadway for construction of the Express Lanes in the median. 

Details include:

9 p.m. Friday, May 15, through noon Monday, May 18
Ramp from Route 234 Bypass (Prince William Parkway) North to I-66 West

  • The ramp will be closed starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15, through noon on Monday, May 18.
  • Traffic will be directed to I-66 East, take the exit for northbound Route 234 Business (Sudley Road), then follow signs to I-66 West.

I-66 West from Groveton Road to University Boulevard

  • From 9 p.m. on Friday, May 15, through noon on Monday, May 18, I-66 West will be reduced to two travel lanes for weekend work.
  • Following this weekend closure, three lanes on westbound I-66 will be available for travel. The HOV lane on I-66 West from Route 234 Business to Route 29 (Lee Highway) Gainesville will remain closed for continued paving operations.
