Overnight Ramp Closures Planned Next Week at I-66 Interchanges with Nutley Street and Route 29 Centreville for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at the I-66 interchanges at Nutley Street and Route 29 in Centreville for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Sunday, October 4, through Friday, October 9
Ramp from I-66 West to Nutley Street North
The ramp will be closed Sunday, October 4, through Friday, October 9, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for utility work. Traffic will be detoured further west on I-66, take the exit for the Vienna/Fairfax/GMU Metro, stay to the right onto Country Creek Road, continue on to Virginia Center Boulevard, and turn left at the traffic signal to Nutley Street North.

Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6
Ramp from Route 29 Centreville to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Monday night, October 5, and Tuesday night, October 6, between midnight and 4 a.m. nightly, for crews to place barrier.  Traffic on Route 29 North will be directed to Route 28 North to I-66 East.  Traffic on Route 29 South will be directed to continue on Route 29 South, make a U-turn at Stone Road, then follow signs to I-66 East.

Message boards on I-66 are providing advance notice of lane closures and traffic stoppages.  

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
