FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at I-66 interchanges with Nutley Street and Route 28 so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14
Ramp from Nutley Street South to I-66 West

• The ramp from southbound Nutley Street to westbound I-66 will be closed Monday night, July 13, and Tuesday night, July 14, from midnight to 4 a.m. for crews to implement lane shifts on Nutley Street. Traffic will be directed further south on Nutley Street, stay to the left to make a U-turn at the signal at Saintsbury Drive, then continue north to the ramp to I-66 West.

Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16
Ramp from Route 28 South to I-66 West

• The ramp from southbound Route 28 to westbound I-66 will be closed Wednesday night, July 15, and Thursday night, July 16, from midnight to 4 a.m. for crews to implement lane shifts on Route 28 South.  Traffic will be directed to continue farther south to Route 29 South, follow signs to I-66 West and make a left at the traffic signal to access I-66 West.  

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
