Overnight Ramp Closures Next Week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project
Closures planned at the Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and Route 29 (Lee Highway) Centreville Interchanges

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Sunday, August 16
Ramp from Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) North and South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Sunday night, August 16, between midnight and 4 a.m. for restriping. Traffic will be directed to I-66 West, to Route 50 East, then stay to the left and follow signs to I-66 East.

Sunday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 19
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville
The ramp will be closed nightly from Sunday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 19, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for utility work and paving operations. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 29.

Ramp from I-66 West to Route 29 Centreville
The ramp will be closed nightly from Sunday, August 16, through Wednesday, August 19, between midnight and 4 a.m. for paving operations. Traffic will be directed to exit to Route 28 South prior to the closure, then follow signs to Route 29.

Sunday, August 16
Ramp from Route 29 Centreville South to I-66 East
The ramp will be closed Sunday night, August 16, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for utility work. Traffic will continue farther south and make a U-turn at Stone Road, then follow signs to I-66 East. As an alternate, drivers could exit prior to the closure at Route 28 North and follow signs to I-66 East.

Monday, August 17, though Wednesday, August 19
Ramp from I-66 West to Monument Drive
The HOV ramp will be closed nightly from Monday, August 17, through Wednesday, August 19, between 10 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. for paving operations.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
