VDOT News - Northern Virginia

FAIRFAX – Temporary ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours next week at several I-66 interchanges so that crews can perform various construction activities for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Wednesday, June 10
Ramp from I-66 East to 495 Express Lanes South

• The ramp from eastbound I-66 to the southbound 495 Express Lanes will be closed Wednesday night, June 10, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for crews to perform utility work. Traffic will be directed to use the I-495 South general purpose lanes.

Friday, June 12
Ramp from I-66 East to Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) South

• The ramp from eastbound I-66 to southbound Prince William Parkway will be closed Friday night, June 12, from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. Traffic will be directed to continue farther east to the exit for Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) North, turn left on Sudley Road, turn left at the traffic signal for I-66 West, and follow signs to Prince William Parkway South.

Nightly, through Sunday, June 14
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

• The ramp from eastbound I-66 to northbound Route 28 will be closed nightly through Sunday, June 14. On Sunday through Thursday nights, it will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. It will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North. 

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
