Overnight Lane Closures, Periodic Stoppages On I-66 East and West Near Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) Next Week For Overhead Sign Removal
FAIRFAX – Three left lanes will be closed on eastbound and westbound I-66 between Stringfellow Road and Route 50 during the overnight hours, Sunday, September 20, through Wednesday, September 23, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. nightly for overhead gantry removal. Drivers should expect periodic 20-minute full stoppages of traffic between midnight and 4 a.m. This work is part of the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
The I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes are expected to open in December 2022.
