Overnight Lane Closures on Route 7 in Leesburg January 5-9
Battlefield Parkway interchange project work
LEESBURG – Lane closures will occur along Route 7 (East Market Street) between the Leesburg Bypass and River Creek Parkway (weather permitting) Sunday night, Jan. 5 through Thursday night, Jan. 9 from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following morning for work related to the Battlefield Parkway interchange project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
On Sunday night, Jan. 5 and Monday night, Jan. 6, there will be lane closures on eastbound Route 7, then on Tuesday night, Jan. 7, Wednesday night, Jan. 8 and Thursday night, Jan. 9, there will be lane closures on westbound Route 7 to install pavement markings. Once the markings are in place, all lanes in both directions will temporarily shift to the left.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in October. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2021.
