FAIRFAX – A new, permanent ramp from I-66 West to Route 234 Business (Sudley Road) South will open on or about Saturday, December 12. Drivers on westbound I-66 traveling to Route 234 Business South will use the current exit for Route 234 Business North (Exit 47B), then stay to the left to use the new ramp to access Route 234 Business South. The new ramp configuration will allow for the widening of I-66 and addition of new Express Lanes for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Starting on or about the early morning hours of Saturday, December 12, drivers should expect the following traffic pattern change, weather permitting:

I-66 West to Route 234 Business South

  • Drivers will access Route 234 Business South by taking the current exit to Route 234 Business North (Exit 47B), then stay to the left to use the new permanent ramp to access Route 234 Business South.
  • Access from I-66 West to Route 234 Business North will remain unchanged.

Drivers should always use caution and pay attention to lane markings and roadway signs in construction zones.
