I-395 North Access to Shirlington Road to Close March 26-27
Detour via Glebe Road will allow bridge work related to 395 Express Lanes project
FAIRFAX - Motorists exiting to Shirlington Road from northbound I-395 are advised of a detour planned Thursday, March 26 at 9 a.m. through Friday, March 27 at 6 p.m. via Glebe Road and 24th Road South. During that time, the exit from the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes directly to Shirlington will be closed to permit work on the bridge over the I-395 general purpose and Express Lanes. Watch for signs directing traffic to remain on northbound I-395 and follow the detour through to the next exit for Glebe Road (see map). Work is weather dependent.
This work is being done as part of the 395 Express Lanes project. The eight-mile 395 Express Lanes opened on Nov. 17 and connect the 95 Express Lanes to Washington, D.C. Learn how the lanes work and plan your trip at www.ExpressLanes.com.
The 395 Express Lanes are a public-private partnership between the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Transurban. See more details on the project and related lane closures.
