Overnight Ramp Closures On I-66 East And West Next Week
Closures planned at the I-495, Route 28, and Route 29 Centreville Interchanges

FAIRFAX – Multi-night ramp closures are planned next week at the I-66 interchanges with Route 29 Centreville, Route 28, and I-495 for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project. 

Details include:

Sunday, Nov. 3, and Monday, Nov. 4
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North

  • Temporary closure of the ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3 for overhead bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
  • On Monday, Nov. 4, the ramp will remain open, but drivers should expect periodic 20-minute stoppages and slowdowns.

Monday, Nov. 4, through Thursday, Nov. 7
Ramp from I-66 East to Route 29

  • Temporary closure of the ramp from I-66 East to Route 29 Centreville from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. for paving. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 28 North to Westfields Boulevard West, stay to the right for Route 28 South, then follow signs to Route 29.


Monday, Nov. 4, through Saturday, Nov. 9
Ramp from I-495 Express Lanes North to I-66 West

  • Nightly closure of the ramp from the northbound I-495 Express Lanes to I-66 West from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for work on the new Gallows Road bridge. Traffic will be detoured to I-66 East to Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) West, turn left at the traffic signal, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 West.

                                  
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
