Overnight Ramp Closure and Traffic Stoppages Planned on Route 28 North Thursday, March 14
FAIRFAX, Va. – Traffic stoppages and a ramp closure are planned on northbound Route 28 and at the Route 28/I-66 interchange during overnight hours on Thursday, March 14. Crews will be shifting travel lanes and setting up work zones for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
Multiple lanes on Route 28 North will be closed between Route 29 (Lee Highway) and Walney Road between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., with slowdowns and intermittent 20-minute stoppages.
The ramp from I-66 East to Route 28 North will be temporarily closed between midnight and 4 a.m. Traffic will be detoured farther east to Route 286 (Fairfax County Parkway) North, stay to the right for I-66 West, then follow signs to Route 28 North.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
