I-66 in Arlington Overnight Traffic Shifts June 9 & 11
Lanes shifting back to normal configuration on bridge over George Washington Memorial Parkway and Route 110 ramps
Update: Due to weather, the I-66 overnight traffic shifts in Arlington have been postponed. They are now scheduled to occur (weather permitting) as follows:
- Eastbound I-66: Lanes will shift to the left between 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 and 5 a.m. Wednesday, June 12.
- Westbound I-66: Lanes will shift to the left between 10 p.m. Thursday, June 13 and 6 a.m. Friday, June 14.
ROSSLYN – The eastbound and westbound I-66 lanes on the bridge over the ramp from southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway to eastbound I-66/westbound Route 50 and the ramp from northbound Route 110 to westbound I-66 will be shifting (weather permitting) overnight Sunday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 11, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The lane shifts will occur as follows:
- Eastbound I-66: Lanes will shift to the left between 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9 and 5 a.m. Monday, June 10.
- Westbound I-66: Lanes will shift to the left between 10 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 and 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 12.
Drivers should expect delays and are advised to use alternate routes.
As a result of these shifts, the eastbound and westbound I-66 lanes will be back in their normal configuration. Since April, both directions of I-66 have been routed on the outside of the bridge to allow rehabilitation work to occur on the inside.
The I-66 over Route 110 and George Washington Memorial Parkway ramps project is scheduled for completion later this summer.
