I-395 WEEKEND LANE CLOSURES CONTINUE THIS WEEKEND, MAY 10-12
Closures needed for bridge work along I-395
FAIRFAX, Va. - Multiple lanes on I-395 South are scheduled to close this weekend, May 10-12, to permit bridge work along the corridor. The closures will begin Friday night at 10 p.m. and continue through Sunday morning. This is the third of four planned weekends of bridge rehabilitation work along the corridor.
What Drivers Should Expect This Weekend:
- Two general purpose lanes will be closed on I-395 South between King Street (Exit 5) and Duke Street (Exit 3) Friday night at 10 p.m. through Sunday morning.
- An additional lane will be closed between Seminary Road and Duke Street from 11 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday.
- To help ease traffic impacts, a minimum of one southbound HOV lane will remain open over the weekend, from the D.C. line to Edsall Road. Thru-traffic (southbound to Springfield) is encouraged to use the HOV lanes, while local traffic will need to use the open general purpose lanes.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement weather occurs. Weekly updates with specific closure information are available at: ExpressLanes.comand VDOT's 395 Express Lanes Web Page.
Current plans call for the reversible 95 Express Lanes, from near Edsall Road to past Garrisonville Road in Stafford, to operate according to their normal schedule.
The 395 Express Lanes, an eight-mile extension of the 95 Express Lanes to the Washington D.C. line, are scheduled to open this fall. Learn how Express Lanes work and how to get an E-ZPass at www.ExpressLanes.com.
