ROUTE 58 OVER SANDY CREEK, HALIFAX COUNTY, TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGES OCCUR
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Repairs on US 58 West over Sandy Creek in Halifax County are continuing and a change in traffic pattern will occur in the near future as a result.
As early as Monday, March 25, weather permitting, the crossovers currently carrying westbound traffic to the eastbound lanes will close and the right (travel) lane of US 58 West will open to traffic. The left (passing) lanes of both east- and westbound traffic will remain closed as additional work takes place.
The damage to the eastbound and westbound bridges over Sandy Creek and nearby roadway, a result of flooding last year, cost approximately $3 million to address.
Both lanes of US 58 in either direction should be open to traffic by April, weather permitting.
