ROUTE 635 BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT COMPLETED AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
The road has reopened to traffic
SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY – The Virginia Department of Transportation has reopened Route 635 (Tucker Swamp Road) over the Norfolk Southern Railroad following a successful bridge replacement project. Curtis Contracting completed the $2.7 million project one day ahead of schedule.
Construction began in February 2018, and the contract had a fixed completion date of May 1, 2019.
The construction site was located on Tucker Swamp Road between Route 460 (General Mahone Boulevard) and Route 622 (New Road) in Ivor.
