UPDATE: (5:30 a.m.All I-95 northbound travel lanes have reopened approaching the exit 148 (Quantico) area in Stafford County. Lane closures that were extended for an overnight work zone to place flyover ramp beams for the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project have been lifted.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Interstate 95 northbound travelers can expect major travel delays in the Fredericksburg area approaching exit 148 (Quantico) during this morning's commuter travel period due to an extended work zone to set bridge beams over the travel lanes.

I-95 northbound will remain reduced to a single lane north of exit 143 (Garrisonville Road) in Stafford County through approximately 5 a.m.

All northbound travel lanes were scheduled to open by 4 a.m. Overnight construction was underway to set bridge beams over the northbound I-95 travel lanes for a new flyover ramp as part of the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.

Northbound I-95 traffic continues to have a single lane diverted into the 95 Express Lanes north of exit 143 to bypass the work zone.

Real-time updates on lane closures for this work zone will be available on 511Virginia.
