BOTH FERRIES ON NORTHERN NECK OUT OF SERVICE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Due to high tide, Merry Point Ferry in Lancaster County and Sunnybank Ferry in Northumberland County will not be running until river conditions improve
Monday, Sept. 12 UPDATE: The Sunnybank Ferry in Northumberland County has resumed service. The Merry Point Ferry in Lancaster County will return to service on Tuesday, Sept. 13, on its normal operating schedule. The Merry Point Ferry does not operate on Mondays.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has suspended service on both ferries on the Northern Neck until further notice.
Due to high tide, the Merry Point Ferry in Lancaster County and the Sunnybank Ferry in Northumberland County will not be running until river conditions improve.
The Merry Point Ferry on Route 604 crosses the western end of the Corrotoman River.
The Sunnybank Ferry crosses the Little Wicomico River on Route 644.
