ROUTE 3 CLOSED IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
All lanes are closed near the Elys Ford Rd. intersection for a multi-vehicle crash; Motorists should seek alternate routes and check 511Virginia for updates

UPDATE (2:50 p.m.) -- Route 3 in Spotsylvania County has reopened to traffic between Elys Ford Road and Wilderness Resort. All westbound and eastbound lanes are now open. The scene from an earlier multi-vehicle crash has been cleared.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 3 eastbound and westbound lanes in Spotsylvania County are closed near the Elys Ford Road intersection for a multi-vehicle crash.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are traveling to the scene to assist with traffic control.

Route 3 is anticipated to be closed for an extended period of time, with no immediate estimate for reopening available.

For updates on lane closures, motorists are encouraged to check 511Virginia online at 511virginia.org or by calling 511 from any phone in Virginia.
