ROUTE 3 CLOSED FOR FLOODING IN WESTMORELAND
Both travel lanes of Route 3 are closed west of Montross, near Chandlers Mill Pond
4:30 P.M. UPDATE: A detour route has been posted for traffic navigating around the Route 3 closure in Westmoreland County at Chandlers Mill Pond.
- Route 214/Route609 (Stratford Hall Road)
- Route 643 (Chilton Road)
- Route 645 (Zacata Road)
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 3 is closed in Westmoreland County due to flooding near Chandlers Mill Pond, west of the Town of Montross.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews cannot post a detour route in the immediate vicinity of the Route 3 closure due to flooding on surrounding secondary roads. Travelers seeking an alternate regional route are encouraged to use Route 360 to cross the Downing Bridge in the Tappahannock area, and use Route 17.
