JIM MORRIS ROAD IN SPOTSYLVANIA CLOSED NOV. 6-7
Through traffic will be detoured on Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7 for railroad crossing repairs

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Route 609 (Jim Morris Road) in Spotsylvania County will be closed to through traffic at the railroad crossing for most of the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 6 and Sunday, Nov. 7.

Crews will be repairing a railroad crossing on Jim Morris Road under permit.

The road will be closed to through traffic from 4 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, until 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7.

Jim Morris Road will remain open to traffic on Friday, Nov. 5, but motorists may encounter evening travel delays with one-way, alternating traffic as crews prepare for the work zone.

Motorists will be directed to follow the recommended detour route, which is Route 17 (Mills Drive) and Route 2 (Tidewater Trail).
