I-95 WORK ZONES THIS WEEK WILL REQUIRE FULL STOPS
Expect overnight delays on I-95 between Exit 133 (Route 17) and Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) in Stafford County
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Overnight travelers on Interstate 95 need to anticipate delays with intermittent full traffic stops scheduled this week between the Exit 133 (Route 17) and Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) interchanges in Stafford County as construction continues to add capacity as part of the Improve 95 construction program.
The full traffic stops will only occur between midnight and 3 a.m. Crews will stop all northbound or southbound traffic up to 30 minutes at a time. Virginia State Police will assist crews with traffic control.
Weather permitting, lane closures on I-95 are scheduled at the following dates and times:
Monday, Aug. 23 – Tuesday, Aug. 24
• I-95 Northbound at Exit 104 (Carmel Church) and Exit 110 (Ladysmith)
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation with double lane closure
• I-95 Northbound and Southbound at Exit 130 (Route 3) to Exit 118 (Thornburg)
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Single lane closure
• I-95 Southbound at Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway )
o 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. – Single lane closure
o 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure
o Midnight – 3 a.m. – Full Traffic Stop up to 30 minutes
o 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closures end
o 4:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. Single lane closure
Tuesday, Aug. 24 – Wednesday, Aug. 25
• I-95 Northbound at Exit 104 (Carmel Church) and Exit 110 (Ladysmith)
o 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Mobile operation with double lane closure
• I-95 Northbound and Southbound at Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
o 9 p.m. – 10 p.m. – Single lane closure

o 5 a.m. – All lanes open

o 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure
o Midnight – 3 a.m. – Full Traffic Stop up to 30 minutes
o 4:30 a.m. – All northbound and southbound lanes open
Friday, Aug. 27 – Saturday, Aug. 28
• I-95 Southbound at Exit 136
o 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Single lane closure
• I-95 Northbound at Exit 148 (Quantico)
o 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. – Single lane closure
Message boards will be posted along I-95 to alert motorists to delays ahead.
